Just Great Jazz and nothing else

Some days ago I got on a mood of listening Jazz and only Jazz… And then came an idea to announce 24 hours of Jazz on my Facebook - my favourite social network.

I received a number of awesome compositions on my wall, some of them I want to publish here as well.

1. One of the greatest American jazz composers, his songs are known by almost everyone because they were used by Carl Stalling for Warner Bros. (Bugs Bunny) cartoons, but even today few people recognize the real composer, Raymond Scott.

2. Erroll Louis Garner (June 15, 1921 – January 2, 1977) – an American jazz pianist and composer known for his swing playing and ballads – “one of the most distinctive of all pianists” and a “brilliant virtuoso”.

3. Keith Jarrett (May 8, 1945) – an American pianist, composer, and jazz icon.
(Though I personally prefer to listen only and not to watch him while playing and making strange movements)
Jarrett currently lives in an 18th-century farmhouse in Oxford Township, New Jersey, in rural Warren County

4. Andy Sheppard – a British jazz saxophonist and composer. He has been awarded several prizes at the British Jazz Awards, and has worked with some notable figures in contemporary jazz, including Gil Evans, Carla Bley, George Russell and Steve Swallow.

5. And here don’t get surprised, Joss Stone – an R&B and soul singer, who performs this song perfectly together with James Brown. Worthy to see:

6. “As” by Gene Harris. (This song was firstly performed by Stevie Wonder and later by George Michael and Mary J Blige).

7. and here comes the FINAL one – my favourite !
Summertime” (George Gershwin) by the Brilliant Ray Brown Trio! Watch, listen and enjoy! :)

*Thanks to all – Carl, Anna, Maka, Tinchen, Guram and Acho for reminding (and introducing) me such brilliant compositions and songs.
